PA Wilds – Route 6 Façade Grant Program

Through the efforts of the PA Route 6 Alliance, 37 Façade Grants will be awarded along the PA Route 6 Heritage Corridor and the northern most part of the PA Wilds Region. This unique project has targeted properties in need of repair and design assistance.

This multi-county effort was made possible thanks to an $183,000 Keystone Communities grant from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) and support funding from the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR)

The program was competitive with over 50 applications being submitted. The funding guidelines followed the already established maximum grant of $5,000 and will require a 50/50 match from the qualified business or property owner.

Participating counties / communities include: Potter County – 14 (Coudersport, Galeton, Ulysses), McKean County – 12 (Kane, Mt. Jewett, Smethport, Eldred), Tioga County – 7 (Ansonia, Blossburg, Mansfield, Wellsboro), and Warren County – 4 (Warren, Youngsville).

These initiatives are being done to encourage revitalization and business development by restoring facades and improving signage. Projects will include façade restorations, design assistance, new signage and awning repair

All 37 projects will have until the end of October 2018 to complete the work.
