Welcoming the newest faces on Main Street and Elm Street!
Elaine Bonneau
Downtown Inc.
Elaine Bonneau joined as the Director of Downtown Inc in January 2019. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, she moved to the area to attend college and started her career in marketing at an ad agency in downtown Baltimore. After growing through the ranks at various marketing/communications firms in the Baltimore area – from her first job as a media buyer to media director, Bonneau struck out on a new career endeavor, launching a marketing/business development consultancy working with both national and local companies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations, including Citigroup, Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Energy.
Entrepreneurship runs in Bonneau’s family. Growing up, she remembers her parents sitting at their kitchen table, discussing critical decisions on how to maintain and grow their family business. Now, she brings more than 20 years of experience to the Downtown Inc. business community and is passionate about connecting the right people with the right resources, especially when it comes to working with small businesses and community partners.
Elaine leads the daily operations of the five-person Downtown Inc team and serves as the primary point of contact for the business community and other city stakeholders.
Elaine previously served on the board of directors for the American Red Cross of Central Maryland, Susan G. Komen Maryland, Girl Scouts of Central Maryland and U.S. Hispanic Youth Entrepreneur Education among others.
Elaine holds a Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins University. She was a 2010 recipient of the Susan G. Komen Maryland Founders Award and the American Red Cross of Central Maryland’s William J. Casey Award for Community Commitment in 2009.
Stacey Gould
Downtown Bedford, Inc.
Stacey Gould is the new Main Street Manager for Downtown Bedford, Inc., filling in the gap left after Tonya Grimes vacated the position earlier this year. DBI, which has been designated as one of the top 10 Main Street destinations, focuses on promoting the growth and prosperity of downtown Bedford.
“The previous managers have built such a solid foundation. I’m excited to continue to expand and further develop what has already been put in place here,” said Stacey.
Most recently Stacey worked in retail and substitute teaching, but has 20 years of sales and marketing experience. She previously served as Admissions, Sales and Marketing Coordinator for a non-profit continuing care retirement community and was the Advertising Director for the Bedford Gazette. During her time at the local newspaper, she worked closely with DBI, actually serving on one of their committees, and also had relationships with many of the downtown merchants. She is a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she studied communications media and journalism, with a concentration in advertising and public relations.
