BUILDING A BETTER BOYERTOWN

I joined Building a Better Boyertown as the Main Street Manager in March 2020. I grew up in the Greater Philadelphia Region. I completed a 2 year degree in Secondary Education with the intent to complete my bachelors with a teaching certification, however I switched my major to History after I arrived at Hawaii Pacific University. When I came home from Oahu I found myself in the finance industry. I learned a lot in that field, but decided that I didn't want to spend my life helping other people grow their wealth. So I went back to school at Drexel University and completed my masters degree in Arts Administration and Museum Leadership. As a graduate student I consulted with several institutions and began working as a collection's assistant at Drexel's newly acquired Atwater Kent Collection. Somewhere during all of this I had moved to Boyertown and quickly got involved with many of the nonprofits in the area which led me to this role. My practicum for my graduate work was on realigning nonprofits with their local communities to establish a more sustainable future. I look forward to building a better Boyertown for myself, my family and my community.

Krista Mosher

BOROUGH OF CASTLE SHANNON

Krista is originally from rural Western New York State and moved to the Pittsburgh area in 1996. She has been a Castle Shannon Borough resident for 15 years. Krista received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science in 2015, and her background has primarily been in Real Estate Development and Commercial Construction. In participating in one of Castle Shannon’s biannual stream cleanups, she fell into discussion of sustainability, policy, site development, and the role of local communities with, serendipitously, Bettina Jones, who at the time was Castle Shannon’s KCC. Krista took Bettina up on an offer of local volunteering opportunities and became a member of the Castle Shannon Revitalization Corporation Board.

After Bettina moved on, Krista became the new Keystone Community Coordinator for the Borough of Castle Shannon. Krista started March 2, 2020 and is looking forward to being able to get back out into her community and implement a workable recovery plan for Castle Shannon.

Gina Thompson

DOWNTOWN BELLEFONTE, INC.

Gina has lived in Bellefonte since 2005. Prior to becoming the Main Street Manager for Downtown Bellefonte Inc. (DBI), Gina taught middle and high school history for over ten years. After finishing her M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction, she was eager to explore new professional opportunities. It was around that time when she got involved in the Bellefonte community, first by serving on Bellefonte Borough Council and then by volunteering with DBI to help plan and organize their special events. Gina has always been passionate about community but didn't exactly know what that looked like for her until she met the folks at DBI and got involved with the organization. She was and continues to be inspired by the dedication and hard work of its volunteers. When Gina is not being a Main Street Manager for DBI, she's off playing in the outdoors. She loves to hike, ski, camp, and backcountry canoe with her husband and daughter, mountain bike in the local state forests with her friends, and just generally be immersed in nature. She is happiest when she's waking up in a tent in the middle of the forest or by a lake.
